Transit of Jupiter through Cancer - Jyotish

ree

Jupiter has changed his sing from Geminis to Cancer at 18th of October 2025 and will stay there till 31st of October 2026.

While there are discussions of transits of the Moon, which are ephimeral and at best - retrograde Mercury, the transits of the giants which have the most influence on one's life for some reason are unnoticed. These giants are Saturn and Jupiter of course, the latter dwells in one particular sign for aproximately 1 year, and the former for 2,5 years. These are the tectonic forces which should be utilised on the way of individual's realisation of dharma.

Preface - About Transit

Before we begin, the important introduction about transits overall should be mentioned.

Astrology ( and Jyotish as well) is usually associated with transits-forecasting, and this is a bad reputation of astrology.

In reality Jyotish Astrology - is a profound science of Vedic Psychology. The most closest Western discipline would be - Jungian Psychology. Both are dealing with concept of Purpose (Dharma) or Individuation as it is was called by Carl Jung.

From here we can derive very simple formula: Purpose comes first and Transits are the second, but unfortunately it is done other way around...

Simple metaphore from my maritime career: Imagine you are the Captain on the ship, and you are sailing from Los Angeles to Port of Caldera in Costa Rica. And you see a lighthouse, and it gives you a direction if you arrived in proper location or not. And if you don't know where are you going - that means you are lost, and the lighthouse can not help you there to choose where to go.

Understand, your Natal Chart is the Roadmap to your Purpose, and Transits are only indicate the best direction at any given moment of time.

Brihaspati - Guru of Devas

Jupiter, known as Brihaspati in Vedic traditon is graha (planet) which personfies knowledge, teachers, wealth, and expansion. Expansion is a broad term and of utmost importance is the meaning of reproduction, hence - children.

But also if the Jupiterian energy is not channeled and thus not materialised consciously in our lives, it could manifest in such illnesses and abnormalities, like tumours of various kind.

Jupiter also personifies a working models. It could be any working model, like business or social model, dietary plan or fitness program. In other words, strong Jupiter in natal-chart gives a system-thinking: a way of understanding reality by seeing things as interconnected parts of a whole, rather than as isolated elements.

Jupiter Exalting in Cancer

Exaltation in astrological terms means, that the graha becomes very strong. This is considered the strongest placement in terms of sheer power, but it doesn't mean that it is the best or the most beneficial position.

To understand how Jupiter is manifested in your natal chart, you need to know is which house he is placed and which houses he rules. Planet which rules kendra (1,4,7,10) houses, so called "good" houses deemed to be beneficial, this qualities are manifested naturally in your character. Then planet which rules dusthanas (3,6,8,12) brings energy which you need to consciously to work through and integrate.

Why is Jupiter exalted in the Moon’s sign?

Jupiter is the professor - imagine your favorite professor sitting in a soft armchair, smoking a cigar, while his assistant brings him a cup of tea. In such a calm, nurturing lunar atmosphere, the professor can express his intellectual qualities to their fullest.

Now imagine the same professor outside on the street in the rain - or even better, at a factory or in the army…

Jupiter, the teacher, feels exalted in the gentle, emotional realm of the Moon - where understanding, care, and reflection support the flowering of wisdom.

What Does It Mean for You ?

First of all you need to know in which house of your natal chart sign of Cancer ( Karka) is placed. Cancer is watery-sing ruled by Moon (Chandra). It is the only sign ruled by Moon and it represent qualities of the Moon: emotions, intuition , introspection, reflection, nourishment, subconsciousness. This sign is represented by the number 4 in the natal chart.

Of course your chart should be rectified.

This House is showing where to channel Jupiterian energy for the next year.

  • Healing of old emotional wounds through wisdom and guidance.

  • The knowledge and experience (Jupiter) and feeling (Moon) - can be become integrated.
